Personality Test
The final phase of the examination process is the Personality Test. During this stage, candidates will face an interview conducted by a Board that has access to their career records. The interviewers will pose questions on various matters of general interest. The primary objective of the Interview/Personality Test is to assess a candidate’s personal suitability for a career in public service. This evaluation is carried out by a board of competent and impartial observers.
The Interview/Personality Test is designed to gauge the mental caliber of a candidate. In broader terms, it assesses not only intellectual attributes but also social traits and an interest in current affairs. The qualities under scrutiny include mental agility, critical thinking abilities, the capacity for clear and logical expression, balanced judgment, a wide spectrum of interests, social adaptability, leadership potential, intellectual integrity, and moral character.
The format of the Interview/Personality Test is not akin to a strict cross-examination; rather, it resembles a natural, guided, and purposeful conversation. This conversation aims to uncover the mental attributes and personality traits of the candidate.
It’s crucial to note that the Interview/Personality Test is not intended to examine specialized or general knowledge, which has already been assessed through written papers. Instead, candidates are expected to have shown a genuine interest not only in their academic fields but also in current events, both within and beyond their state or country. Additionally, they should demonstrate an understanding of contemporary thought trends and recent discoveries that pique the curiosity of well-educated individuals.
